The MySkills Scheme is a Malta government initiative that reimburses individuals — in cash — for the cost of accredited training. Whether you're employed, unemployed, or returning to work, you pay the course fee upfront, complete the programme, and claim your cash grant back afterwards.
Key Benefits (cash grant reimbursement):
- Employed participants: up to 80% cash grant reimbursement.
- Unemployed participants: up to 100% cash grant reimbursement.
- Maximum grant: €5,000 per application, paid on successful completion.
Eligibility
Applicants must satisfy the following criteria at the time of application:
- Be at least 15 years old.
- Be legally residing in Malta.
- Not be primarily self-employed.
- Not be employed by the training provider delivering the course.
- Not have already completed the training course for which they are applying.
Eligible Courses
Full Qualifications and Awards pegged between MQF Levels 1 to 5 qualify. For MQF Levels 6 and 7, only Awards qualify under the scheme.
Note: MySkills is a cash grant reimbursement — not a tax credit. If you are self-employed, an employer funding staff training, or prefer a tax credit route, ask us about Get Qualified or Investing in Skills (IIS).
